View of Wasatch Mountains from Salt Lake City
We left Manchester at about 8 AM and didn't arrive in SLC until 3 PM east coast time (there were flight delays at Manchester abd Chicago). Then we loaded up our convoy of 4 vans and set out with our group of 24 folks (18 bikers and 6 hikers). It's about 5 hours of drive time to Moab so I'm writing this entry on the drive down since I'll probably be too beat to do it once we arrive.

The ride out of Salt Lake is really scenic, and there's some snow on many of the higher peaks surrounding the city. We saw a little snow by the side of the road at about 7000 ft as well. Most of the trees have already lost all their leaves. Here comes winter!

I think we'll be getting into town at about 8 PM local time (10 PM Eastern), then we'll go to the grocery store and load up on food for the week, go grab a bite to eat, then return to the houses to unpack and settle in.

We had our bikes delivered to Poison Spider Bicycles and they're there waiting for us, so we'll hit them up at 8 AM when they open and busily reassemble our rigs for our first ride tomorrow.

I'll get some pics of the area and post them in tomorrow's entry.  Hope you're having fun following along!
