Hamburgers, Meet Ups, Dead Bodies and Wasabi Shots
Monday was the day that we were meeting up with Julie and I was really looking forward to it!
Beth, Chris, Lorenzo and I took the subway in and headed for Rare, a hamburger place that Julie had discovered on another trip to the city and had really enjoyed.
We arrived there and met up with Julie and her friend, and also Brenda. After a yummy lunch of fantastic hamburgers (thank you Julie!!) we decided to break into teams to get things done; Chris and Lo were going to head to see the "BODIES... The Exhibition" display, and also Lo wanted to see ground zero. Beth and I walked with Brenda to Times Square to get some tickets to a show she wanted.
It was great to walk thru times square and visit with Brenda and Beth; but soon Beth was a bit run down, and we headed home for the day.
The boys arrived home happy and well, having studied all the dead bodies and how the systems work together. They had also been to ground zero as planned.
Now it was time for dinner, and Lo had been quite keen to get some sushi while in New York; and as with most things in New York, you're able to order it in - quite nice!
So we ordered in the sush (or rather Beth did; she did a great job of picking lots of different things for our feast). As we ate, I explained to Beth my practice of "wasabi shots". I love taking a large amount of wasabi (the amount that most people might use for a full meal) and to swallow it all in one bite; you get this huge shock thru your system, but it typically goes away quickly - it's a great rush and quite funny.
So, Beth and I began to do wasabi shots together; over and over again. It was so funny, and while the boys didn't participate, they enjoyed watching. Finally, Lo decided to make a quick video of us doing the wasabi shots. I've included it here as a little idea of my vacation...
