We got to New York
, and the weather was beautiful! It was quite hot - around 79 degrees - so we were all sweating like pigs. We got to our hotel, the Days Hotel Broadway, which was very mediocre, but it did the job fine. We had 3 rooms - one for my parents, one for Sarah and Carley, and one for me and Tristan. Once we unloaded all our stuff in the rooms, we went to Central Park and walked for almost an hour. It was beautiful! There was a pond with what seemed like hundreds of turtles, which was quite a sight to see. There were also baby ducks, which were very cute. After walking in the sun for about an hour, we were baked, so we finally made our way back to the hotel. Once at the hotel we relaxed for a while, for we had a busy night ahead of us! At 6 we took the Subway to Times Square and walked around for a bit.
We had a 6:30 reservation at a nice Italian restaurant called Scarlatto. The food was perfect, and they gave you just the right amount, so you didn't feel stuffed. There were photos of movie stars all around. After a wonderful dinner, we saw Phantom of the Opera on Broadway! Me and my friends that I brought are all very much into musical theatre, so this was a fantastic experience for us. The show was awesome. The music was beautiful, characters and plot were interesting, costumes were magnificsent, and set design/special effects were extremely complex and pleasing to the eye! I was very impressed with the special effects, from the dry ice, pyrotechnics, flying, lighting, etc. No wonder its the longest running show on Broadway! Anyways, so the show was great, and we took the Subway back to our hotel and went to bed.
