A Maltese holiday

I didnt even know where Malta was as i boarded the plane, but another country to visit is all i needed to know, and the thought of seeing an old friend.

The weather hasnt been too kind to me since i've been here but the sights have more than made up for it. Being such a small island it doesnt take long to get places, which is always good. The towns and villages are old and run down which adds to the character. It is really a typical mediteranean country.

The bays around the island are amazing and i'm sure would be spectacular in summer. A must trip is the full day quad biking tour around Gozo (an island just off the coast). As Malta is not very big on safety, there is much fun to be had. The Azure window is a sight you MUST see. The waters around there are the bluest of blue.

The old Capital of Mdina is very quaint and lights up nice at night. The new capital of Valletta is bustling during the day and well worth sitting down at a coffee shop and watching the world go by.

I did think it would be cheap here but i was so wrong. I think tourism and being greedy has taken over this country and they have tried to become too cool for school.

It is a very laid back country and a beautiful country...well worth a visit. Apparently it can get very, very busy during June, July + August, but thats when the best weather is.

I'm coming there next week.... cant wait to see such beauty! :)

Visited Malta some years ago, liked Valletta and all the green buses.
