Venice...I think I'll bring my wife here on our honeymoon. This place is amazing. The streets really are water. That is, I'll come back if the city still exists...apparently it's sinking. But, ehhh.....it's still beautiful right now. After wiping up my drool from walking through the city, over the bridges, around the gondoliers, we all went out as a group our first night in. People not normally drunk got silly, which was even sillier to watch. It was good going out as a big group though...we've got a lot of diversity and unity at the same time. Yesterday, a little class in the morning, then the beach...oh the beach. I missed the beach! But apparently it's an option for you to keep your clothes on...because we were surrounded by toplessness here and there.
I'm getting tanner than you ;)
Just got back from the island of Murano, aka, the glass-blowing mecca. We got to watch a few demonstrations and look at all their amazing glass work. Venice is amazing because it's so foreign to what I've seen lately. Everyone said it was really expensive, but that's only if you don't look around. The gondola rides are overrated, so we aren't planning on doing that ever. But I haven't seen a car in 3 days...and that's awesome. But I have seen polizia boats, postal service boats, DHL and UPS boats, and their subway (the vaporetto) is, of course, by boat. I love this place. Wedding, honeymoon, vacation, another study abroad, this place is sooooo picturesque. So I must go take pictures now. Ciao! Zurich is next! Can't wait for some real swiss cheese.
