Nothing is better than taking a low cost carrier out of Dublin towards Paris only to find yourself here (north of Paris)...

All right..., thinking I would have this brilliant idea to do all of our European research online and then just wing it when needed...well...let's just say traveling with others makes it difficult to just wing it.  Trying to make arrangements for multiple people can be difficult, luckily, the travel mates didn't express to bad, but I certainly felt the stress of being the lead.

On this particular late evening, we find ourselves arriving at Beauvais airport, where no one speaks English and my French is extremely rusty.  Thanks to the "Information" booth that seem to be at every transportation point (or maybe the big ones) we found a gentleman who very kindly made reservations for us at the hotel (bed and breakfast), pointed us in the direction of the taxis, and even gave us a slip of paper to share with the driver.

When we meandered down a random street and came across a café.  There I was able to seat us with my impeccable French.  “Je voudrais a couchette, SVP.”, that got a chuckle from our garcon.  Needless to say, I was actually looking for a booth, not a bed.  We had a nice dinner and a bottle of red (Reliever #2).

We took a different path back to our hotel only to pass this beautifully huge gothic church - Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beauvais_Cathedral).  We took some pictures, but it certainly doesn’t do it justice.  I only wish we could have stayed longer, but bed time called, much more traveling to do tomorrow…now my internet studies told me there was a cost effective way to rail from Beauvais to Paris…I think I need to find those pages in my phrase book…more to come.
