ARRIVEDERCI ROMA
This song, more than any other, brings back happy memories of my Italian travels in the summer of 2005.
I played and sang Dean Martin’s cover throughout my adventures, much to the chagrin of everyone around me.

I also bought Mario Lanza’s all-Italian original version and even accompanied a singer and accordianist on the song during a sunset gondola ride through Venice’s canals.
Arrivederci Roma was introduced in the movie, Seven Hills of Rome. The acting and singing were well done, but the real star of the film was the Eternal City itself. Rome was the most popular city in the world in the Fifties. Hits like Roman Holiday and Three Coins in the Fountain proceeded Seven Hills of Rome.
Back in the day, this song was played EVERYWHERE, almost as much as I warbled it across Italia.
You, too, can drive your co-travelers nuts. Pick up a CD with this catchy ditty, put it on your iPod and let the moaning and groaning begin :-D
Today, when I listen to the song, my mind wanders to famous landmarks, fantastic lasagna and fabulous ladies.
