I studied at Jagiellonian University in Krakow for 18 months. I earned my MA in cultural studies (TransAtlantic Studies / Relations) from there - same university as Copernicus and John Paul II went to. :D

Arrival

The flight from Chicago was uneventful.  I made sure to get a direct flight from ORD to KRK.  I took the train to the main train/bus station in Krakow and found a hostel there as  I wouldn't be able to check into my dorm room for about 3-4 days.  I ended up at "Bling Bling Hostel" which initially I almost rejected because of the name alone, but it was close to the station and the main square, so I took it.  It turned out to be a good choice, I met quite a few good people there.

This first day I just did a quick walk around Rynek Głowny (the main square) got some food, got rained on & just crashed back at the hostel quite early.

See now I, on the other hand, would have CHOSEN Bling Bling hostel for the name alone-- how do you pass up something that good?
