Tuscany Seaside Resort Town
VIAREGGIO BEACHES
In the area of northwest Tuscany called Versilia, there is a line of beaches on the Tyrrhenian Sea. These Tuscan beaches are characterized by clean water, interesting villages and the amazing Apuan Alps in the background.
Viareggio is one of the most famous and traditional seaside resorts in the Versilia. Its wide, sandy beaches fall gently into the sea. Alongside runs the sea promenade with lots of boutiques, shops, cafés, discos, cinemas and art galleries. The town is known for its excellent cuisine and exciting nightlife.
If you’re used to wild and free beaches, you may be saddened that Viareggio’s best are very commercial. You rent a day pass from a private bathing establishment. At Nettuno, one of the many resorts, this gives you unlimited access to their beach, a freshwater pool, indoor/outdoor café/restaurant, deck chair, a big sun umbrella, use of a changing room and a locker for your street clothes.
If you’re looking for a place where the sun is hot and the social life is even hotter, Viareggio Beach may be just what the Doctor Dré ordered.
