Experiencing Hawaii's most populated island.

Day Two

drunk with my roommate and some of the higher ups in the company

After waking up to a somewhat bad hangover I rolled out of bed at a ridicules hour, 7am. The time change is still playing with me, I would never wake up at 7 at my own will after a night like that. I got my roommate and we went down stairs. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which is the biggest tourist hotel I've ever seen. They set this place up to where there was no need to leave, everything you needed was right there for you at an extravagant mark up but you never had to set foot outside the property. We found ourselves at a breakfast place that obviously didn't leave much of an impression; I don’t remember the place’s name. We each ordered our $11, barely anything, breakfast which I could've cooked back home myself which is saying a lot.

Co worker nice enough to keep me out of trouble most of the night
...I can't cook. After breakfast I realized I forgot my cell phone charger so I took a cab and got myself to the Ala Mona Shopping Center. When I got there it wasn’t open yet for another hour so I took a stroll across the street to the park and sat on the beach amongst the abundance of homeless people. Homeless people are everywhere over here and its almost socially acceptable. It seems that most of the homeless are people who have lived here for years and as the condos came up so did the cost of living and this eventually led to the homeless problem here. Honestly the beach in Honolulu isn't spectacular at all, I honestly didn't feel like I was in Hawaii at all, just another beach to me but it was pleasant none the less.
my roommate, co worker and I have no clue who else
Finally the mall opened for business. When I got there I was immediately lost. The entire mall was huge and it was all open to the elements. Most of the mall had a clear Plexiglas cover but some parts didn’t which kinda sucked seeing as it was a light rain that day. The mall overall was awesome having everything you could really need. If you’re from Japan and your missing home a bit, don't worry, there are more than enough specialty shops that cater only to the Japanese. I walked into one of theses stores and although everywhere in the states you can find shops like these, this one was like walking right into Japan and that was really the theme for most of Honolulu; the city couldn't decide what country it really belonged to. I got my charger, which was surprisingly fairly priced considering every mall I've been to almost counts on visitors forgetting their chargers, and got back onto a cab and headed back. After a nap I took part in another free meal thanks to the company and went back up into my room and took another snooze. Once again I regret drinking so much on this trip and this wouldn't be the last time I'd waste time in my room sleeping. As the early evening approached we got a bunch of people to our room and got the party started. I washed up again and started to drink, AGAIN. After several shots of Vodka and Rum we headed out to club Pearl in Honolulu. Club Pearl was in the Ala Mona shopping center and seeing how I was already pretty buzzed when I got there, I couldn't tell you where in the shopping center it was. When we got there it was packed already at an early 11pm. It was a very classy and good looking crowd which I'm used to seeing as back home I'm an avid ultra lounge connoisseur, haha. I started at the bar and began to get it popin'. After a few drinks we got to dancin'. After having a great time we went back to the hotel and sat on the beach with some of the young ladies that accompanied us. I'm sure there where a lot more details to the night or even day but the running theme is not to be forgotten here, I was drunk pretty much the entire time, haha
