We started out and did a few hours on the bus after breakfast at the hotel - we stopped for our morning adventure at the Los Angeles Cloud Forest and were scheduled to do a 1 mile hike with a local naturalist. This portion of the country was not quite as exciting as Torturguero, Arenal or El Cano Negro - but it was nice to get off of the bus for a little while. We were given assign seats on the bus each day, and we rotated by 4 every day so that everyone had a chance to get a great view from the front two seats.
The most exciting part of the Los Angeles Cloud Forest was all of the hummingbirds - we saw at least 5 or 6 different varieties of humming birds! We had lunch and back in the bus to head down to Jaco.
The hotel in Jaco was very nice - another place that drinks were also included! We stayed at the Hotel Amapolajust a few blocks from the beach. We had the evening free after dinner at the hotel so we wandered into town, checked out some of the stores and also walked down to the beach. We got a little lost wandering through the residential section looking for the public beach access - but we ultimately found it.
You can tell Jaco is a tourist town, not just for the Americans, but for the locals as well. There were many souvenior shops, art galleries, restaurants and bars. We have a free afternoon tomorrow, so we signed up for a ATV tour tomorrow while we were in town as well.
Back at the hotel, the dinner buffet was one of the best we've had so far, they had a very wide variety of food and some great desserts as well :) We had a 2nd floor room that overlooked the pool, the pool also had a swim-up bar. We made our way down to the pool after dinner and took a swim before bed. We also played some Farkel down at the pool. It's nice to be in a beach resort town where you can just relax for a day.
