Since we stayed in the hotel, we had a complementary Denny's breakfast. It was so great! It was the perfect fuel for the hilly ride ahead. The cyclists were able to pull through great! I racked my first cyclist, today. He swerved out into the middle of the road (there were no cars), so per policies and procedures, I racked him. At Push, we put safety first. I've been in too many accidents and close calls, so I know first hand how important it is to keep my boys safe.

The friendship visit was another amazing one! This was one of my top 5 favorites from '03.They had a band that played everything from Stevie Wonder to Bubba Sparxxx. This really touched me in ’03 because they sang Bridge Over Troubled Water, which we sang in GT Chorale the Spring before I did JOH.

Doc Caldwell retired that semester and we sang it in our concert to a packed Ferst Center. We resang it at the end of the concert as the encore. It was just cool to hear it with Trey (my big bro, who also rode Journey with me on ’03, and who was also in the GT Chorale). Anyway, this FV had a lot of wonderful food, dessert, art by clients, and they even gave us NineZero bracelets (like the LiveStrong bracelets) to raise awareness to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Apparently, the leading cause of mental retardation is FAS, which is caused by the mother drinking during her pregnancy.

We also had a good time with the arrival at the state capital. The cyclists rode to the capital building in a double pace formation (they rode in two lines side-by-side). The crew members and I blocked the traffic with our vans for their turns. It was a really good experience for them and it just looks so gangsta!
