The Journey of Hope is a cross-country bicycle trek beginning in San Francisco, CA and ending in Washington, D.C. The event raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities. I biked this event in 2003 and I return this year as the Crew Chief.

Day 18 & 19 - Phoenix

Three years ago, today, was the day that I got back on the bike after my concussion. It was so wonderful to get back on the bike. I would have gotten back on much sooner if the doctor hadn't have made me stay off for that long. Today's ride went pretty well and it took us to lunch in a park which a Pi Alpha sponsored pizza and Gatorade. Afterwards, we headed to lodging at a ginormous high school! It had at least 5 gyms and felt more like part of a college campus. In '03, we stayed at the San Carlos, which is PHX's oldest hotel (and it's haunted!!). Too bad we didn't get that sponsor this year ;(
