The Journey of Hope is a cross-country bicycle trek beginning in San Francisco, CA and ending in Washington, D.C. The event raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities. I biked this event in 2003 and I return this year as the Crew Chief.

Day 17 - Wickenburg

If you're looking for a super friendly town where everyone knows everyone, then Wickenburg is for you! Everyone there was just so friendly and nice to us. On the way in, the employees of Benner-Nauman Inc. had a big crew stop with tons of fruit, Gatorade, water, cookies, & brownies. They also gave us a very generous monetary donation! For lodging, we stayed in the Wickenburg High School gym. The Woman's Basketball coach was there and we started talking. It turns out that she went to Piedmont College and is from Alpharetta, GA!! It's such a small world! We had dinner at the Elk's lodge that night where the Mayor presented us with a Proclamation.
