Arriving in Hawaii
September 15, 2007
After a relatively uneventful flight, we arrived early in Honolulu. We left Houston 25 minutes earlier than scheduled due to an air show that was about to begin in Honolulu. We were the last flight to arrive before the air show began.
We found our luggage and took the shuttle all the way around the airport to the car rental location. When we got off the shuttle we realized the car rental location was just across the street where we got on! We picked up a Dodge Charger (they gave us a free upgrade) from Dollar Rent A Car and loaded up the luggage.
We made our way to Nimitz Highway towards Waikiki where our hotel was. It started to rain a little, just some sprinkles. The air show was starting and we were able to watch the USAF Thunderbirds do their amazing flying formations.
Traffic was very heavy and we attributed most of it to the thousands of people who were at the beaches watching the air show. Took us about 70-80 minutes to get to the hotel.
