Sailor's Town
October 7, 2007
This time while visiting Sasebo I actually went out into town to see what some of the night life had to offer. Sailor's Town is located about 15 minutes walking from the U S Naval Base (hence why they call it sailor's town). My first stop a co-worker took us to a Western Bar called Westerner. This bar is own and operated by four middle aged Japanese women. It was quite a site seeing them in their cowgirl outfits. The service was great and the atomphere was wonderful. They had a Karaoke machine that when your finished singing it uses a slot machine effect to deterime if the whole bar gets a free shot or just the indivisual. Our next stop was a small bar called Bunny. This bar wasn't that pack but I had the feeling many people visited the bar. Looking around you saw all the money from differnt places pin thoughout the bar. The staff was friendly and alittle flirty and we loved every minute of it. The beer was alittle bit more expensive but all in all we had a good time. There are a few bar's located within Sailor's town but we didn't visit all of them. I noticed not only Sailor's visit Sailor's Town but also the local Japanese and some buisnessmen. At the Westerner Bar there was a doctor from Nakasaki that visited the bar quite often as well a few polital people that enjoy the bars in Salior's Town.
