three week solo trip to salvador da bahia, morro do sao paulo, rio de janeiro and buzios.

still pining for morro

i think i have a knack for leaving a place when the weather turns.

worse than yesterday, it was overcast in rio.  i was glad i left.]

went to the rodoviaria novo rio (the bus station) to catch a 3 hour bus ride to buzios.  the bus was quite nice.  airconditioned, the seats reclined, assigned seating.  i was very comfortable.

the countryside was very green and beautiful.  in some ways, it reminded me of the philippine countryside.  i did take a nap.  it felt good.  i was so tired....

buzios was just as overcast as rio.  i was quite disappointed.  i checked in to my pousada at brigitta´s on rua das pedras.  the story goes that brigitte bardot came to buzios with her then brazilian boyfriend.  her visit put buzios on the ´map.´

buzios is a lot more cosmopolitan than i imagined.  the main street is lined with clothing stores, restaurants and bars that one might see in any urban city.  this was definitely not morro.  i will have to check out the beaches tomorrow.  although my pousada is also beachfront, it is mostly a marina type place.  so, i am hoping that the beaches will be better....

updates later....
