October 27, 2007
...and seriously felt like i stepped into a proper fairytale. it's a very pretty city and prolly looks much like it did back in like, oh i dont know, the 13th century? it's a nice lil college town with a lot of history (one of the four "leading lights" in medieval europe) and has managed to keep some legends alive. but man was it cold! brr. quite a change from the incredibely lovely weather we've been having here in Madrid. I took the bus there using the auto-res company and even though they're on strike, i managed to get there (from Madrid) in exactly 2.5 hours. like on the dot. was bizarre really, haha. anyways if you find yourself in spain with a free day, stop in Salamanca. it can make a great day trip. oh and since it's a college town, it has a great nightlife too. we went to jacko's (dedicated to all things michael jackson. nice), the holy cross, and the irish rover
