On the train to Zandvoort
Originally we planned to join a 3-hour-walking tour through Amsterdam but somehow the tour guide didn't show up. So we walked over to the train station and had a look on the map to find out where to go. The lady from the train company wasn't really helpful and just nodded when we asked what to see in Zandvoort. So we jumped on the train and would have to see what to expect. At least we assumed a beach and something like a town.
After half hour we arrived in Zandvoort. It was windy, cold, rainy, not really promising. But that couldn't hold us back; we went down to the beach and got almost blown away by the wind. Anyways, it was so nice walking along the beach . If you're wrapped up in a warm jacket it doesn't matter at all.
A bouye guides you the way to the museum
We found a cool museum called mu-Zee-um where they collect stuff they have found in the sea, like bottle caps, wood, gloves, shoes, and even bones, dentures and messages in bottles. The guy who works there collects these things for more than 25 years and all the stuff is being displayed on two stories. He's so full of passion and doesn't even take an entrance fee.
Afterwards we went back to town, grabbed a coffee and a kroket burger at McDonalds and made our way throughout the city. We stopped at a grocery shop to get some beer and chips and walked back to the centre. But as it was still raining we decided to go back to our hotel in Amsterdam. I was so looking forward to a quiet evening, watching tv and having a coffee to get warm again. And that's exactly what we did :)
