John Lennon's tribute in Central Park

Well, it was supposed to be my last day in NYC and I was feeling sad about it. But I decided to stay until the next day. Well it depended on: finding a place to stay and talking to my friend. I talked to the guy in the hostel and he wasn't 100% sure, if I would be able to stay in the same room or if I had to move. It didn't matter to me. I was lucky and there was space for me.  :)

The night before I agreed with Matt and Andre to go out together early in the morning. We met at the lobby and left the hostel in order to go to Central Park. I had been there before, but didn’t explore this huge park properly. So, that was the opportunity to do it and get nice pictures with my buddies.

Guggenheim - I wanted so bad to visit it - bad luck! I guess I have to go back ;)
We took the metro and drove to Central Park. I just heard about John Lennon’s Memorial in Central Park and wanted to visit it. It is located in Strawberry Fields (Central Park West and 72nd St.) and we did it. There was a race through the park too, so we met a lot of runners and people.  We kept on walking, enjoying the nice day and hanging out. Andre wanted to see different things than me, so we decided to split. Matt joined me and we agreed to meet Andre later that day at the hostel. So maybe we could go out together at the evening.

I wanted to visit the Guggenheim museum. I have always been attracted not only to the art inside it, but also to its architecture. But I wasn’t lucky. They were doing the maintenance work and it wasn’t 100% open. You could visit it, but just the 20% was open, which also meant they didn’t charge you the regular fee.

Anyway I enjoyed my visit, but I have to go back ;)

After the visit, we just kept on walking through Manhattan and it was almost noon. I called my friend in Fleetwood and let him know I will be back on Monday, hehehe.

We just went back to the hostel in order to meet with Andre and figure it out what to do later, but we couldn’t find him. We waited for a while, but he didn’t show up, so we decided to keep on enjoying NYC. We took the metro back and I wanted to see that famous building I always see in the tv shows and movies. The one located in the corner and we found it! Then we went to Bloomingale’s, just to take a look. No one of us was thinking about doing shopping, hahaha. Well, it was time to become children again. We visited the F.A.O. Schwarz Toy Store.

Hell's Kitchen Flea Market
Wow! It’s really huge! They have anything you can imagine. A paradise for the kids, well you would feel like a kid again, so it would be a paradise for you too. We found the big piano and played there. And I got a stuffed puppy. So sweet!!! Thanks Matt :)

Then we just went to Hell’s Kitchen area to visit a Flea Market. You could find almost anything there, like antiques, crafts and fashion. It was fun to visit a different part of the big apple :)

By the time we were done, it was getting dark, so we went back to the hostel. Mark had to leave and I had to check which will be my new room. I was moved to another floor, nothing big, and shared the room with a large group of people.

I just took a shower and went downstairs. I met Kuon and we went out, bought some beer and decided to hang out with the people of the hostel. We had a blast and it was nice staying quiet at the hostel.
