I have been to Santa Fe several times before, the last time being about 2 years ago on the way back from Austin, which was also a stopover on the way home. The times before were ski trips to Taos. I always liked the adobe buildings in Santa Fe, and the light here is very special. The quality of light is why Santa Fe attracted a lot of artists, one of the most famous was Georgia O'Keeffe.
We stayed at the Inn of Governer's near downtown, which is right along a little river, where the fall colors were starting to show on the trees. A short walk took us to the restaurant Tomasita's where we had a (new) Mexican family style dinner. Their Margarita on the rocks was very good, and only a 20 minute wait later we were seated.
The hotel had wireless network, however their name server was not working so they let us use the only wired computer in the lobby.
