Smaller private airplanes don't usually fly directly into any of the big airports in NY, instead we flew to the one in West Chester County north of the city. It's actually still a pretty big airport with commercial flights. My friend Marina picked us up and took us to the Pepsico headquarters only a few minutes from the airport. The grounds of the headquarters is where the Kendall Scupture Garden is located. This garden was started in 1970 when the CEO of Pepsco at the time Donald M Kendall moved the headquarters from Manhattan to Purchase, NY, and he created an open museum (free to the public) on 168 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds to display 45 sculptures (we didn't have time to see them all!) by world class sculptors such as Alexander Calder, Joan Miró, Henry Moore, George Segal, Auguste Rodin and more, this is a great place to visit.
After strolling for an hour or so, the sun has set and we went back to Marina's home and then went out to dinner with Marina and her husband. Dinner was terrific and the conversation was enlightening (since Marina and her husband both were professors and had a great deal of knowledge as well as interest in lots of things).
