In the tuk tuk to Agra Fort
I wanted to see the Agra fort so a few of us made an effort to get up early this morning so we could squeeze it in before our journey to Bharatpur
. We took Tuk Tuk's and were the first into the Fort. From the outside it look majestic so I was excited about going inside. When we were buying our tickets an old man approached us and wanted to be our guide, I didn't want a guide I wanted to go around at my own pace and I had my guide book to help me, the old man was not happy we had refused him, he was the only grumpy Indian I came across for the whole 2 weeks ! Inside it was just as lovely as outside and so peaceful none of the crowds of the Taj Mahal. The gardens and red sandstone buildings was just lovely and I enjoyed exploring the nooks and crannies. We came across a couple of monkeys up on the walls and another two monkeys were up to monkey business on another wall ! Exploration took me to what I can only describe as a balcony, an octaganal terrace that stuck out over the outer walls and from here I could see out across the smog and just make out Agra town. It also gave me a good view of the outer walls and the buildings that rested upon them. We had to be back by about 10am so we could get breakfast and get on the public bus to Bharatpur.
