Lions! Lions! ....and more LIONS!
There is some kind of feeling - very intense and powerful that happens inside you when you are in the presence of lions - in "their" house. The Ngorongoro crater is their house. Of course, you feel safe as you sit in your plush 4x4 Jeep and peer out the open roof down at the lions. They seem so peaceful and chilled out using the shade of the jeep to lay about and rest - as cats do most of the day....
After all, these are just cats. BIG cats. But, when they stand up, stretch and look at you straight in the eye, there is a moment and feeling of communication that is hard to explain. Lunch meat or friend? Unless you get out of the jeep, you'll never know...
But, driving away and digesting the experience of "hanging out" with lions leaves you with a very emotional feeling. Its a feeling of amazement and wonder. I hope my photos express some of this. Enjoy...
