Welcome to my travel blog. We only live ONCE (unless you are Buddhist). And lately, I wanted to do something about that. So I decided to explore the world to make some kind of pilgrimage. So I left what I have to find what I don't. I'll be traveling for seven months to France, Germay, Turkey, India, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Etiopia, and Tanzania. I hope you enjoy my stories, photos and experiences. "All you touch and all U see is all your life will ever be."

Entry # 11 - Dharamsala, Mcleod Ganj & meeting the Dalai Lama!

After 10 days of meditation and studying Buddhist philosophy, I returned to the village of Mcleod Ganj - to the real world....  Well, if this part of India is the real world.  It was strange for me to be in a village with stores, restaurants and people!  I felt hyper-sensitive and overwhelmed with all the movement and busy-ness of life, eventhough Mcleod Ganj is a small village.

I took a few days to relax, hike, shop and absorb my meditation experience - and to return to my travel-journey-mentality.  These photos are from the days AFTER my meditation experience.

P.S.  I forgot to tell you that the Dalai Lama showed up in Mcleod Ganj while I was there.  We got special permission to enter the Temple and see him give two 2-hour teachings on the "3 Paths to Enlightenment".  I was an UNFORGETTABLE experience!  We were NOT allowed cameras, so you'll have to ask me what it was like to see and hear his the Dalai Lama!!!

Hey Danny,

I couldn't be more jealous of you than I am right now. It's blistery in Chicago. And much less beautiful. If you stay long enough you should grow a beard like the old guy in the photo. He looks like he could be related.

I'll be on the West Coast through December and look forward to more photos. Stay well.
