Drive and arriving at the house.

We hit the road for the 12 hour drive. I'm thinking along the line of 12 hours, my sister being a former trucker is thinking more like 15 hours. Either way that is too long to be cooped up in a Ford Explorer. Not only do we have our stuff, we also have to stop and pick up Gwen and her stuff in Stuart. And guess what, she over packed also :-) To say it will be a little tight is an under statement.
Since I have never been to the Outer Banks, I was figuring that its like any other beach towny area. In a way is it. The usual seasonal tourist trap/rental kinda of place. We arrive at our house that we are renting for the week. The house in a word is AWESOME!!!!!!!! And the view is great too. But the area is a little built up. Some homes are within arms reach of each other. And I think some of the locals are too fond of renters. But oh well, if they don't know how to have fun - sucks to be them.
We spend the rest of the day unpacking and relaxing. The pool is freezing cold so we won't be in there too much. But the hot tub and sauna are more then warm enough. Well cold beer, pizza and hot tub is good enough for me after a day long drive.
Now I'm one that usually doesn't plan or pack too much for any trip. I just tend to go with the flow and see what happens. Since I know we gonna be on the beach for most of the trip, I figured lots of shorts and maybe one dress pants for when we go out. Even if we did go out, Duck being a beach town I'm sure shorts would be fine anywhere we went. So I have a small duffel bag, a lap top bag, and my camera bag. So how the heck does my sister have a duffel bag the size of my car's trunk, her own lap top bag, and a suit bag holding five dresses? Is this a girl thing? Do girls always over pack like this? And she wants to hike across Europe with me. I think I might need to explain the concept of backpacking to her :-)
