  • Returning the car to Avis: after a relaxing Blue Lagoon bath, I left towards the airport. I had to return the car but hadn't filled the gas tank and entered the wrong parking lot and couldn't get out. So I had to call Avis one last time and the guy came to open the gate for me and made me follow him to the gas station at the airport. But of course, it was a self service/card-only gas station. So I had to go back to Keflavik to find a gas station, fill the tank and come back to the airport to return the car. I paid and was driven to the terminal where I took some more pics with my cell phone and did some last minute shopping (finally found Haklar!). The girl from the duty free shop was so cute and nice!

  • The flight: my row was empty so I could stretch my legs and lay down to sleep.

Of course, I couldn't sleep, but at least I watched Ocean's 13, which was... ok. Once in Baltimore I didn't remember where I had parked so had to phone someone to help me find my car. After that, I drove about 5 hours back to my house and at 1:30AM, I was home and ready to sleep.

My whole Icelandic journey was so short and intense, it felt like a dream. It was an incredible experience. Everything that could go wrong went wrong, but still, I didn't want to leave Iceland and now I can't wait to go back. And traveling alone is not that bad, in fact, it rocks! Everyone should try it! You really get to enjoy the sights, sounds and energy of the places. Strangely enough, you might be alone but you'll never feel lonely...

Thanks for reading! Hope you have fun in ICELAND!

Takk fyrir~

I lived in Keflavik for a few years when I was younger. You're not kidding about how expensive it is. I remember my parents first reaction when we ate at a Pizza Hut there and discovering how much our meal cost.
