Goðafoss - on the way to Husavik
September 24, 2007
- Goðafoss: I never heard of this waterfall since it's not listed as a "main attraction", but man, the viking was right, gorgeous place! The falls per se are small and unimpressive compared to Gullfoss, but the surrounding landscapes and the unearthy shapes of the rocks make it more special. Especially with the snow-covered mountains in the back. It was awesome; running against the wind towards the falls on fields of lava rocks, it was like a movie, but in this case it was just me hurrying up since it was getting darker and I still had to drive to Husavik.
- The pedestrian bridge was big and I walked half of it until I realized how tall it was. In my defense, it was wet and super windy... I promised to pass by the bridge tomorrow on my way back and cross it. It was my little "Everest" ;) Little did I know what was gonna happen the next day... :(

- Husavik: I wanted to go to the Mývatn lake, but at a crossroad I decided to continue to Husavik. It had been a long day so I just wanted to take a shower and sleep. I checked-in at the Fosshotel before it got completely dark. It was raining a lot so I didn't even want to get out of the room. The hotel was nice, the room and bathroom were very clean and comfy. I checked my inventory of food and went to bed.
