Full Moon Party

We took an overnight boat from Surat Thanni to Ko Phangnan, arriving the morning of the full moon party. After being on an island paradise full of families and old people, Ko Phagnan came as a bit of a shock. The town of Hat Rin looks similar to Newquay only with far more drunken tourists. !0thousand travellers congregate for the monthly full moon party and as we were the last of them we discovered that pritty much all accomodation had gone, after two hours of dragging our bags around we finally found a bungalow for 400BHT (one of the most expensive rooms we've had) which was more of a cardboard box than a bungalow and came complete with the most massivist spider i may have ever seen. So we had to get a guy to spray it with some anti-spider spray and watched as a battle ensued for about 10mins as the spider jumped around refusing to die, it was finished of by another guy with a broom in the end. We then slept for most of the day, recovering from our NINETEEN HOUR journey to get to the island and then attempted to enter the spirit of things by buying a sangsom (whisky) bucket and heading to the beach, which was absolutely packed with very drunk farang. It was an okay night but all a bit of a shock to us really after relaxing for so long, and so we decided to leave the very next day which involved getting up far too early and joining a hundered other very hungover farang on the waviest boat ever which resulted in half of the boat being sick. Full Moon Party = Too much drunk, too many sights, too many sounds. 22 is clearly the start of old age !!
