From just outside Glasgow it took about 8 hours to get to Fort Augustus, haha. Along the way i stopped off at many Loch's and a whole different variety of sightseeing attractions to take some photos of the wonderful sights the Highlands has to offer.
I was meant to drive through Loch Lomond, but ended up getting lost. It didn't matter, whichever way you go there is always something to see and the accidental detour took me up to the Rob Roy memorial near the town Callander. There's a long, skinny stretch of road to get to it, but i think it was worth it to see the resting place of one of Scotland's historical figures.
From here i also stopped off about 15 minutes later at Loch Lubnaig which seems to be a popular camping ground, but the area was very scenic none-the-less.
Along the way in getting to Fort Augustus there were stop overs to look at the Falls of Dochart and generally in the few stopping zones to capture some of the scenery. Fort Augustus itself is a nice little community which has plenty of tourists and hotels, i quite liked the place. The town lies at the base of the Loch Ness about 20-30 minutes from Fort William.
