I have heard so many nice things about that city that I MUST visit it. They all were right, this city is soo sweet. It seemed to be that the time stopped here.   It looks like a fairy tale old city.

Right now I was in the train in my way to Brugge. Because once I took the wrong train, I decided to make sure this one was the right train and asked a guy if this one was the right train. The man was Irish and noticed I wasn’t local, well this wasn't difficult to see, hahaha. I was the only one with dark skin, haha. He asked me where I was from, when I said Peru, he became even friendlier and gave me a bigger smile. He had been in Peru a couple of years ago and his nephew just arrived from Cusco. So, we had something in common - ;)

He confirmed this train was the right one and recommended me to enjoy Brugge, but go to Oostende for the night.

De Markt Platz in Brugge, a sweet city. It seems the time stopped there.
Oostende? I didn’t have any idea about that city. He told me this city is on the coast, Nordsee. And it was summer time! beach! hahaha. We were just chatting and his nephew called. He was talking to him and then asked: "guess, who I just met?" after a silence: "a Peruvian girl! and she's coming to Oostende in the evening!" What? but, but, hahaha. He gave me his contact info and told me to go to Oostende and look for him at an Irish Pub where he'd be cooking a BBQ. Thanks a lot for the invitation! I didnt say yes or not. I told him I would like to go and would do it, if I were able to find accommodation in Oostende. Ok, we had a deal, then.

My original plan was staying in Brugge for the night and then going to Antwerp. But at the end I didn’t do it so :P

I arrived to Brugge, left my bag in the station and called to a hostel in Oostende.

Het Minnewater (Love's Lake). It's a romantic city
Well, they had space, so I’d go to Oostende for the night ;)

Wow! Brugge was like a dream come true. You could hardly see autos, just in the main roads, but not downtown. I walked through the sweet streets and parks. Everywhere I went, I saw a lot of people, most of them couples. This is a romantic city.

I arrived to the main square: “De Markt”, visited the Cathedral, climbed the tower in order to get a great view of this lovely city.

I kept on walking and enjoying the view. Sure you have to take a boat through the beautiful canals. So I did. I was able to see all the old houses. They maintain them very well and don’t want anyone to disturb their architecture. You won’t be able to find a “new” house downtown. The entire city was peaceful and quiet. Just the tourists were a bit noisy, but not much, they were respecting Brugge’s atmosphere. There were swans just swimming next to the boats.

Well, it was almost 7pm and I had to go to the station in order to go to Oostende. I loved it, it was 7pm, but didn't get dark until really late, hehe. This would be just a night to relax and hang out with people who love Peru. That sounds gret to me :)
