Pyramid and Courtyard (The Louvre)

When you are in Paris, you have to save some time for the Louvre and if you like the impressionists, visit D'Orsay Museum. But Paris is not just museums, you can visit the nice parks, walk around the streets, take a cup of coffee and of course the fashion is there!

Today would be my first day in Paris. I mean 24 hours ;) I went downstairs in order to meet the Ecuadorian guy I met the night before. We both went to have breakfast at the dining room and found a large group of children, hahaha. Children are always cute and fun all over the world!

Where to go? We both exclaimed: The Louvre! We really wanted to visit it, but I say it again: the Louvre is huge! And of course magnificent! Because there are so many great things to see, be sure to check first which collections you want to see.

The Denon in the Louvre
A day is not enough if you want to see everything.  As a good girl, I made some research and was sure what I wanted to see:

1.      The Mona Lisa - La Joconde,

2.      Venus de Milo,

3.

      Egypt Collection

We took the metro and arrived to the Louvre. We got our entrances and checked the map of the museum to look for our 1st stop there. After “The da Vinci Code” film the Mona Lisa is the most visited painting. There is a long line before it and you can’t stay long admiring it. It’s sad…but true. I thought the painting was bigger, but it's sort of small which doesn't mean it's not beautiful.

We visited my other MUSTS, so sweet of him to follow me, awww. Ok, number 2 & 3: done! Now, we felt free to visit whatever we wanted until it was time to go.

resting after a long walking in the Louvre. Le Jardin des Tuileries. (Thanks for the tip Nicolas!)
I was looking the paintings from big artists and remembered about the art books I checked as a child. I thought I could go back home and write next to them: SEEN! Hahaha.

Well, it was time to keep on going. We crossed the Tuileries, Champs Elysees and arrived to the Eiffel Tower.  So lovely! It was sunny, great views, have to do it if you are in Paris. My Ecuadorian friend was supposed to meet another friend "under" the Eiffel Tower, but we couldn’t find her. He suggested to leave, but I thought: "would I like something like happens to me?" No way! We waited for her and she arrived! She wanted to walk around the places I had already visited, so we decided to split and meet later. Hopefully we'd do that, I was getting used to walk with someone… share impresions and be on the pics ;)

I walked through Les Jardins du Trocadero, but had to go back to the hostel. I needed to do laundry!

When I arrived to the hostel, I found the friendly girl at the frontdesk.

Oh la la!!!
She was looking forwasrd to talk to me in order to practice her English, lol. She had news from me... I had to move to another dorm. A big group would arrived and got the whole dorm for theirselves, mmm. Ok, no problem. She even helped me moving my stuff and apologized profusely. Didn't have to... I told her about me needing a hostel in Brussels and she took care of it and helped me with my reservations, how kind!

Ok, it was time to do laundry. I saw there was a laundromat just around the corner. I showed up there with my clothes, but didn't know how to operate the machines. I could have asked the workers for help without any problem, but the workers just spoke French - besides Hindi. They were so friendly and kind. They were wondering where I was from, hahaha. So we started to "talk" or at least try. Did I leave the place while my clothes were getting washed? no, it was so fun "talking" to them, hahaha, with signs and mimics, haha. And what about my clothes... well, they didn't want me wasting time figuring out how to operate the machines, so they took care of everything. How sweet!!!

After a couple of hours and many laughs, I was ready to keep on knowing Paris.

do I need to say where am I?
Left my clothes at the hostel, went to La Villete and walked next to the Sena River in order to go back to the Eiffel Tower.  I visited the Jardin du Luxemburg - a lot of people were just hanging out there. It is a really nice park. Of course I went to the Arc de Triomphe.

The meeting point with the 2 guys was "under" the Eiffel Tower, but I arrived too late. It wasn’t dark yet.  So I decided to climb to the Eiffel Tower in order to see the sunset from there.  There was a long line, but this is the Eiffel Tower!!! Doing the line I met a nice young couple from California and we became a group of 3, nice! There was a large group from people from India (about 30 people) 10 were before us and the other 20 were behind me. So the leader approached to the Californian boy and asked him to let pass his friends.

20 people!!! No way!!! The leader was pissed off and so were his friends. Wasn't it easier to let 3 people pass before the 10???

They were about starting to argue, but fortunately nothing happened. One of people from the group thought I was from India too, specially after telling him my name, hahaha. It was fun how convinced he was I was Hindi, hahaha. "really? aren't you kidding me?" "No, I'm Peruvian!"

Finally we arrived to the top! The view was AMAZING! We were allowed to stay at the top as long as we wanted. It was so beautiful! Then it became dark and Paris at night is so GREAT! All the lights were on, what a beauty! Also all the lights from the Tower… breathtaking.

It was getting late. I walked a bit through the city and went back to the hostel.  I had new roommates!
