Arriving to Vienna or Wien :)
After a long drive from Hannover, I finally arrived to Vienna. Although the drive was long, it was a good one. The train was really comfortable and I even got a snack, hehe. I arrived to the train station at 5:30pm as scheduled. I had already booked a hostel and had the directions how to get there. I knew I had to take the metro, but before leaving the station I'd look for a locker for my big bag. I'd stay in town just for 1 day and didn't want to carry my big bag.
I found the lockers. But the empty ones were high and I'm small... fortunately a guy saw me and offered to help me, how sweet! I was ready to leave. Now time to look for the subway tickets. I read at the city's website about the 24hrs ticket. So I bought one. It was valid for all the local drives, so I was able to use the subway and tram as much as I wanted/needed.
I was staying just for 1 day, so I decided to leave my big bag in a locker at the train station. It was a good idea leaving my bag at the lockers, because the hostel was in a hill and it might have been hard carrying it, specially for me :P
When I arrived to hostel. I asked for my booking and there was it. The lady at the frontdesk was Peruvian, hahaha. She almost cried when I wrote "Peruvian" hahaha. She gave me a map of the city and another one for the public transportation. I didn't have much time in this city, so I decided to go to downtown as soon as possible. I was walking down the hill when I noticed somebody was following me. It was a Chinese guy I helped at the front desk. He spoke a broken English. He was looking for a place to eat. I remembered in my way to the hostel I saw a bakery. So we walked together. I helped him to order his food and told him, I'd go to do some sightseeing and maybe meet him later at the hostel.
I took the subway and went to downtown. I went to Stephanplatz, my idea was visiting the Cathedral and climbing the dome. But the dome was already closed. So, I decided to come back next day to go inside the Cathedral and climb the Steffi. Since I was already there, I decided to take a walk around the square and enjoy the nice views.
My next stop was the
It was almost 11pm when I left the park, but
The value was good, actually they were the cheaper during my trip in Europe... Their price included sheets and also breakfast, which was a buffet one. It was a good one.
The hostel was big and had nice common areas, including pool tables, nice gardens. Always you can find apples if you were hungry. The dining room was huge. Also they have lockers. The staff was very helpful.
The place was safe and the bed at the dorm was comfortable. The bathrooms were clean too.
The only not so good think was the location. They weren't walking distance from downtown, but just a few blocks away from the subway station...

Visit the Prater and take a ride in the Wienerriesenrad. The Prater is a theme park and the Wienerriesenrad (Giant Ferris Wheel) is the main attraction as well as it's a landmark of the city.
My suggestion is going at the evening when it’s dark, in order to get a nice view of the city.
The entrance to the park is free, but you have to pay for the ride. Just go there, enjoy a peaceful ride and relax while you are getting a nice view of the city.
Since I'd stay there just for 1 day, I got the 24hrs one "24-Stunden Wien".
It allows you 24hrs of free rides using the public transportation. So, you could take the subway, tram, etc.
This ticket was really useful, not to mention I saved money too.
