A beautiful sunset

It's our last day on Hatteras Island, and what a spectacular sunset on the Pamlico Sound.
I spent the week with my mom and brother on Hatteras Island. My brother spent several hours catching fish and releasing them back into the sound. One of them died, though, before he could throw it back, and the people staying in the condo across the way yelled at him to throw it to them. We could smell the fish cooking that evening, so I guess they had a nice dinner.
My brother had bargained with the guy who rents kayaks just a block away, and we had the use of 2 kayaks for a nominal price all week. Neither of us had been kayaking before, and we explored the canals along the sound. Of course, I managed to drop my nice film camera in the water, but thankfully had my old digital camera as a back up. We kayaked through most of the canals, and eventually I got stuck in one area and was struggling to paddle back up the canal. My brother, who was several yards ahead of me, ended up coming back, a cigarette hanging out of the side of mouth while pulling my kayak out of the mud. It really made me realize how much I appreciate his unconditional love and truly wish that one day I'll have a partner who loves me unconditionally, too.
