Bohemian part of Lima - charming Barranco
January 6, 2009
I just noticed I never posted a pic of Barranco in this blog, so wrong... well I can fix it now, hehe. Barranco is a charming area, laid back, full of art and artists. Back in the 20's the wealthy people of the city used to have their beach houses here. Right now, the city is big and this is a residential area. People who live in Barranco now are mostly artists: poets, singers, writers...
Barranco has its famous square with a nice church. There is also the boulevard, where you can find clubs open the whole week. There is also the Sigh Bridge - where you can ask for a wish - and the Cliff with an amazing view of the sea...
You can find different clubs, pubs, bars and cafes, and of course the penhas with Peruvian music and dances. If you visit Lima, visiting Barranco is a must.
