Dilloman Triathlon
In 2004, i had just returned from a trip to Europe, so i had only 6 weeks to train. Not an ideal length of time. Also, i had to borrow a bike from my brother. He gave me a 1985 Trek 10 speed. Also, not ideal. But it would be my first triathlon, so my goal was just to finish.
This year again, just returned from a 4 month Europe/South America trip and had only 6 weeks to train. Oh well. But this time things will be a little different. I bought a Trek 1600. And I trained a little different this time. I bought a stop watch and i would keep track of my times. I would constantly try to improve my best time. Sounds like a pretty good idea right? Well, it had a strange side effect. Not only was i timing myself training for the triathlon, i was also timing myself in normal mundane everyday chores and activities. I would time myself in the shower, on the can, and how long it would take me to cook breakfast. It really got out of hand when i would time myself having sex.
Well, anyway, i did improve my time by 12 minutes. And next time i do a triathlon, i have decided to train a little longer. I also want to step it up to a longer race, and maybe one day run an Ironman.
