Bayou Beach, Utila

Unfortunately it rained all night and looked very grim when we got up in the morning after a nice lie in. We decided we would head out to explore the main strip anyway, and walked all the way around to a beautiful point called Bundu Beach. We had to pay $3 to swim there but it was really nice with chairs, hammocks, white sand, palm trees, straw huts and a bar, and it also included one hour of kayak rental. We swam for a while before it started to rain, so we headed back and had some lunch before grabbing some sunscreen and stuff and heading back to do some kayaking. This was really fun and it was so nice to be out on the water in the sunshine! Afterwards we went swimming in the clear water and had a few drinks before heading back to the hotel after the sun had set.

For dinner we went to the Jade Seahorse Restaurant that we had read about in the Lonely Planet. The food was really crap unfortunately. We then headed to Tranquilla Bar on the beach which had cheap drinks and great music, before returning to the Jade Seahorse to go to an amazing bar next to it. The place was AMAZING! It was all made out of recycled material such as plastics and bottles, and was built high up into the treetops. It was a million different colours and when you went into the toilets they had UV lights so your underwear glowed in the dark, as did the loo paper and all the things stuck on the walls! The drinks were great too and its definitely a must see if any of you ever come to Utila. Headed home afterwards as we were a bit tired.
