It was one of those lucky coincidences, when I wanted to go to the Palmengarten just to enjoy some flowers and the quietness in the city that is always in that place. And wanted to do it before the pyramid exhibit was over. So lucky me, the had the orchid market going on and the China exhibit as well. The sun was shining so much, it felt like a summer day.
Anyways, the Palmengarten is located in the middle of Frankfurt, it is a nice place to rest and relax and I enjoy it, for when it is cold you can sit in the greenhouse and pretend you are in Arizona or the Amazonas or.. or... or... well, whereever your imagination takes you.
IN the summer there is a water playground for the kids and a little tram goes through the park as well.

They have seasonal exhibits, well it is a quiet place. Even thought the grass is now being invaded by people trying to get some sunshine. Too me a disadventage, to others a welcome rest stop. For a break most people go for coffee and cake and if you are annoyed by the hour wait till you get your food, don't worry, when you get the bill you'll soon forget about the wait  :(
The Palmengarten is not too far from the Old Opry, within walking distance and there you will find many places to eat. My favorite in between the two is the Block House - yeah STEAK - or across the Opry is the Casa de la Musica - good cuban food and on the weekend live music, even though the place is very, very small - I think 6 tables at the most, but this makes it so cozy.
