The first stop on the Bohemian Beer Tour

I just thought this was a cool picture...
After three days of "cultural shit" in Prague, I was ready for a break from the usual tourist traps.  The sole reason for going to Ceske Budejovice was to tour the Budvar Brewery (also known as Budweiser).  The 2.5 hour trainride from Prague was well worth it and the tour was NOT disappointing.  The brewery is about 3km outside of town... but a short trip on the Number 2 bus (going northbound) will drop you off right in front of the brewery (the stop is aptly named "Budvar").  The hour long tour takes you through the entire brewing process of the beautiful sweet nectar and there was enough "sampling" to make the tour pay for itself (in the form of free beer).  Oh... and once again... you get 50% off the price of entry by showing a Student ID.  Ceske Budejovice (or "sexy" as I like to call it) is not that big and the only other real sights I found (besides the Budvar Brewery) were in the main town square.  Good thing I'm only staying one night here... tomorrow it's off to Plzen for round two of the Beer Tour.
