The title is the first words in out national anthem. To be honest it's a quite boring anthem compared to other countries, but still, it's ours. Here you'll get teh chance to read a little about my life up here in the cold north, and how we norwegians survive.

If you're interested in seeing something that I think is typical norwegian, you should visit 'Glomdalsmuseet' while you're in Elverum. It's basically a museum with old houses from different time eras. I know, it sounds a bit boring, but if you just take your time and look at these houses and try to imagine how life must have been back in the 17th century you'll be suprised how entertaining it actually is.

Inside most of the houses there's furniture and everything is exactly how it was back when people lived here. These houses are from all over the country, but mostly the south east part of Norway.

If you join a guided group you'll get the most out of your visit. The guides seems to know "everything". You'll also learn a lot about how life in Norway was like before we got electricity and tap water.

The best time to visit is definitely summer. During summer there's also different happenings from time to time. The museum area is filled with farm animals to give you a 'norwegian experience'.

If you have time to spare you can cross the river and walk over to our second museum in town, called "Skogmuseet". There's a great outdoor area, and inside, if you're interested, you can learn all about our wildlife and forestry.

Take a look at their website for more information.
