A quick coffee stop and to the dock.

My family and I took our bicycles and spent the day up on one of the islands in Lake Erie. It's a very unique experience. We had a great time.

A quick coffee stop and to the dock.

The winos... er... people coming back from the island's wine fest the night before.

We stopped at Spill the Beans coffee shop before heading onto the downtown ferry for Kelley's Island.  If you're looking for friendly atmosphere and a great cuppa' before heading over on the island, go to Spill the Beans.  It's within easy walking distance.

The ferry runs (during season and weather permitting) every half hour.  I LOVE the ferry ride.  I love being on a boat.  The ferry cost both Dan and I $40.  That price included round trip for us and our bicycles.  It's $14 round trip for a person.  $6 round trip for a bicycle.  $26 or $28 (can't remember) for a vehicle.  $18 for a golf cart.  We didn't want to deal with rentals and figured taking our own was cheaper.  I'm glad we did.  Although I found out QUICK that my butt is not used to being on a bike for about 9 hours a day.

Anyway, off we went for Kelley’s Island and a day of fun!
