Traffic getting off on Ackerman

We headed down early for the 3:30 p.m. kickoff.  We were lucky enough to be given tickets (THANKS to Dan's Mom and StepDad!).  After getting through the normal game day traffic madness, we parked in our usual lot benefiting either special Olympics or the OSU wetlands project.  We made our way through the tailgaters to the stadium.  As you can see, I rubbed the spinney wet ball and met Mr. Ohio (them are some HOT pants, there Mr. Ohio).  We dropped by Heinygate (the oldest and WILDEST tailgate party) to listen to the Danger Brothers for a bit.  After taking a nice stroll around the stadium, we went in for game day festivities.

I absolutely love watching the band march in and do pregame.

Northwestern did not do well.  They had negative rushing yards for much of the game and few passing yards.  You can see from this pictures taken into the first quarter that they struggled.  I will keep my biased Buckeye comments to myself as I don't want to offend any Northwestern fans, but OSU won... BIG.  (Like, by 50 points...) 

There was a car show back in our hometown that evening so we left a little early to beat traffic.  I've NEVER done that and if it wasn't for the car show and the, um, one-sided score, we wouldn't have.

I love OSU football.  I find it easier to watch on the TV, but there's absolutely NOTHING like being in the game.  I hope to go back down and do a little tailgating of my own sometime this season.  Those will be interesting pictures.
