Looking out from Olympic National Park toward Victoria, BC
Today we drove up from Bremerton, Washington into the Olympic Peninsula. With only 1 hour to spare, we raced up into Olympic National Park and drove straight up a mountain-side to Hurricane Deck. As time was a factor, we turned around and raced back down the mountain to wait an hour for the CoHo Ferry. The ferry came and we loaded onto it (along with many, many more cars, trucks, SUV's, campers, tractor-trailer trucks, and a tour bus,; as well as many foot passengers). It was a pleasant enough sail across the Strait of Juan de Fuca for about 90 minutes to arrive at Victoria! After an unbelieveably long wait, we disembarked and waited in another line to pass through Customs. Finally we arrived at our hotel, the Delta Ocean Pointe and checked into our fabulous room with a perfect harbor view of the Inner Harbor. As we came into our room, there was a fantastic bouquet of 12 red roses in a beautiful arrangement! It had been sent as an anniversary gift from Ryan & Katie! Barry cried I cried, the poor bellhop could hardly understand why we were so happy! We have spent the rest of today walking around Victoria and enjoying the fantastic flowers and wonderful climate (only 70 degrees!).
