Cedar Wood Lodge

Port Alberni Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

An introduction to some of the things I enjoy about my home town, Port Alberni - situated in the forests of central Vancouver Island on the shores of Alberni Inlet - a long fijord that reaches in from the Pacific Ocean. At the foot of Mount Arrowsmith and the Beaufort Range and surrounded by some of the most spectacular wilderness on the planet
It doesn't get better than this.
Normally I wouldn't stay in a hotel this close to home but last winter severe storms cut off our power and forced us out. We "lucked into" Cedar Wood Lodge. Despite the snow - and many trees - on the ground, the welcome was warm and helpful.

The owners normally close the hotel in mid-winter but this year they put off their own family vacation because their guests were in need of housing.

Combine the warm hospitality with excellent amenities and you have top rate accommodation. Comfortable beds with plump warm duvets, wireless internet, a pool table and a buffet breakfast in the morning. It doesn't get better than this.
