Plans are going well after a slow summer. Disney have given their support and have kindly donated boxes of toys, books and stationary which have already been distributed to Romania, Uganda, Sri Lanka and Nigeria. More is on the way and this will become a regular feature of the project.

Donations have started to come in and at this stage we are concentrating on raising a minimum 10,000 pounds sterling to help two projects just outside Jos, in Nigeria, where one of my brother's has been doing VSO work. The first project is to build new classrooms, water and lavatory facilities, and provide books, stationary and equipment (inc. sports equip.) for a school of 180 children, who have been asked to vacate the land where their present classrooms are situated. These 'classrooms' are in fact converted chicken huts! The second project will be to provide long term financial support for a school, run by Sister Brenda Hunter or the Daughters of Charity, which caters for special needs children with afflictions such as cerebal palsy, Downs, and autism.

Via an old friend, we may have obtained a substantial amount of financial support which will help with the Nigerian project initially. Chris Herrod, of the Herrod Foundation in the Bahamas, has kindly lent his support and will be recommending the Foundations backing. Will keep you posted.

A letter has been sent through to a personal contact at Virgin asking for their support and advice. Will keep you updated on progress.
