Home Sweet Home
September 23, 2006
We've been in rain before, but this one might win the prize. Hard, pelting rain fell on us for about an hour before we pulled into a McDonald's. Soaked to the bone, we were praying for some relief. Riding wet isn't any fun. We started pulling dry clothes from our packed bags and commenced changing into them. Of course, the guys were soaked, too, but they just toughed it out, knowing that the wind would dry them soon enough. Closer to Chattanooga our prayers were answered. The sun broke through the clouds and now it was hot as blue blazes. We were definitely back in the deep south. We pulled over and started shedding jackets. Home wasn't but about another two-hour ride for us, although J&R would have another three hours back to Starkville. Later that night we gave them a call and they had arrived home safely. We are planning another trip for next year. Watch for my blog.
