Day One
Janice and Randy (hereafter referred to as J&R) rode up from their house in Starkville, Mississippi, to meet us at our house in Mount Olive. Jim and Nelda (J&N) were loaded and ready to go, so we hit the road around 4:00 in the afternoon. We had originally planned to leave early Saturday, but we thought that if we could get a head start by leaving on Friday afternoon, we could make Niagara a day earlier than planned. Geepers. Are we rocket scientist or what??
The miles clicked by as I listened to the XM Radio. The best invention since sliced bread. Country or 60's? Such a tough decision. We went around 250 miles before turning in for the night. That put us over the Tennessee/Kentucky line and we were pleased with ourselves. Now we could probably make Erie, Pennslyvania, before nightfall on Saturday.
