Gold and Red ~ Alabama Autumn

I think that people have the wrong idea about Alabama. I have lived here all of my life and I want everyone to know what a special place it is. We have the beautiful Gulf of Mexico in Mobile County and the gorgeous colors of autumn from Montgomery to the Tennessee line. It's not necessary to travel to the mountains of North Carolina to see glorious color ~ we have it right in our own backyard.

Gold and Red ~ Alabama Autumn

Today was a glorious November day here in Alabama.  My husband and I took a short ride north from our home in Mount Olive to the small town of Blount Springs.  After lunch at Top Hat Bar-B-Q, a well-known fixture in Blount County, we took the time to enjoy mother nature in all her glory.  Last night's rain storm knocked many of the red and gold leaves from their branches, but there was still enough of a show for me.  Enough for several snapshots.  If only I had taken the time to do this four days ago.  It's just about impossible to catch the trees at their peak color, what with the unpreditability of rain and wind.  But today was a good day, just the same.
