So, we are in Oaxaca.  Unfortunately, I only brought the travel book that included Chiapas/Yucatan, and so we are flying a bit blind.  We ended up in a hostel without internet and had to take a photo of the map of the city at the bus station to figure out where we were going.  Good thing Beau's camera has an excellent zoom feature.  At the hostel we noticed our dorm-mate was out so we stole his travel book and wrote down a few restaurant suggestions.  The only activities suggested were in other nearby towns or involved buying local goods, which we don't really have the money to do or the space to store said goods.

In fact, the only thing we thought seriously about buying was a puppy.  They were being sold at toll booths on the freeway from Mexico City to Oaxaca.  Don't know how much, but they were quite cute.  Our reasoning was that it might be nice to have a little travel buddy, and also we already had a great name picked out--Porfirio Diaz.  So why not?  Unfortunately, our driver was not particularly interested in stopping to price-check any dogs.

We have until 7pm tonight to wander around the city.  Then it's off on a lovely 13 hour bus ride to San Cristobal de las Casas.
