The basketball court on Caye Caulker. Lots of evening games.
We are in Caye Caulker, a lovely island off the coast of Belize. We went snorkeling yesterday on a sailboat tour. 3 stops, including the Hol-Chan Marine Reserve (where we saw a loggerhead turtle and a green moray eel), and Shark & Ray Alley and Coral Gardens. It was a lot of fun, and we got rum punch on the way back. The water was quite warm and shallow, except in the Hol-Chan, where there is a deeper channel running through the reserve. We also saw a spotted eagle ray swimming along the bottom of the channel. It had a super long tail, much longer than the other rays we saw.
Caulker is a very laid back place, not too many mosquitos and lots of happy hours. We'll probably stay another night, since Beau got a wicked sunburn yesterday while snorkeling. He is laid up in the hotel room today.
